I’d rather live a life of “oh wells” than a life of “what ifs”.
Many of us, if not all, know how it feels to hold ourselves back.
To fall victim to self-doubt.
To convince ourselves that we’re content with the norm, the routine, and the mundane, when what we really crave is the extraordinary.
We fill our mind with the lie that what feels safe is good enough, because we know that to strive for anything more could potentially lead to failure and disappointment.
Perhaps we fear that it would confirm our self-doubt… and then what?
So we float along through life, ignoring opportunity and refusing to take risks, thinking that we can’t fail if we never really try.
But where does this leave us? Drifting aimlessly with the hope that one day, something will change – that we’ll encounter something wondrous without taking any risks of our own?
I am so guilty of this mentality, and while I’ve acknowledged it before, I’m learning more and more that true magic is more likely to occur when I’m going against the current.
So here’s to a life of risk-taking.
Here’s to a life of pushing the limits, creating my own future, and discovering the beauty of the uncertain.
After all, is there really such a thing as failure? I’d like to think that every experience could be learned from.
And in the end, I’d rather live a life of “oh wells” than a life of “what ifs”.
